BT 2010 A long trek to nowhere.

It's good to see the progress made by the Outdoor Department and I know the immense effort from the officers to get RM to this point. Locally we now know that the 3.5% increase will be paid in April and will be welcome. Even though it's a pay cut in real terms. On delivery it will put net earnings for the majority back to old D2D levels pre the Delivery Supplement.

Despite handling walk sequenced mail in DO's since August 2011, with consequences of a freeze on filling Full Time vacancies, reducing Overtime opportunities and vastly increasing absorbtion/lapsing (whether agreed or not), only one unit in KA/DG has received the 39 hr week and the £1000 bonus. A timetable to 2013 will see other units follow and it will have been a long wait.

BT2010 is not a national agreement. BT2010 Scotland seems to exist, even before the Independence vote. Not a single unit has introduced one in four Saturday attendances. Offered a choice of 1 in 4 or maximising FT employment workers have chosen the latter, as trades unionists should. Yet Saturday attendance till 1500 or 1600 is planned.

Delivery reps played no part in setting the imposed Network plan to ensure early attendance in delivery. Area Delivery reps have been advised that they would not win an in principle disagreement at Divisional level yet BT2010 states that the pipeline should meet the needs of delivery staff.

Who advised the Area reps that they wouldn't win an "in principle" disagreement?
It is quite clear that the Network plan suits the needs of MC workers, it might suit the needs of distribution (I don't know) but it clearly isn't designed to fulfill the hopes and aspirations of delivery staff who are now expected to fall in line.

To be fair how could it possibly?
The notion that the aspirations of members in a particular D.O. can drive the workplan of a mailcentre that feeds a large number of D.O.s is ludicrous....it's like the tail trying to wag the dog.
Everyone wants to start early,everyone wants their mail sequenced first,everyone wants their manual through the night...no-one will volunteer to be last....how can that work especially when you are cutting mailcentres in half and constantly reducing feeds?
It was at best a dream...at worst a blatant lie...there will be winners and everyone else.
What is now happening is that RM are reneging on previously agreed plans because they don't fit with Network 12.
Our agreed last feed was supposed to be 0725,we built our attendance patterns around it but due to Network 12 issues it's now arriving at 0750.
RM Scotland's answer...try to move our start times outside the revision process.

I take your point - perhaps I should have phrased it thus.....

I wouldn't question the commitment of the Divis.
But I am beginning to wonder about their competence......

Can someone explain to me where in BT2010 it mentions "FLOW" Revision, I stupidly thought that BT2010 was about
WSM, P&L, DM's, IWT, GEO-route, PDA's, HCT's, LWT's, building a new relationship, £1,000 for 2 revisions etc, etc
Now all of a sudden FLOW??????????? WTF... I personally think that FLOW was supposed to be introduced as part of the 2013/15 new big deal and has been brought forward because the revisions are waaaaaaay behind...
