To leave or not to leave ???

Full time perm with just over 6 years in. As you may have seen in the media Jaguar Landrover are recruiting and I have been offered a job, and I know only I can answer the above question but...... just wanted some input really

I got made perm ft in oct last year, will be 4 years in june.

I'm going to accept a ft nhs job as its better conditions and feel my work life balance will improve.

I think we all want to leave but its just a case of finding something as good as the pay terms or better than what we get now

Depends what work you'd be doing for them, a big difference between tea boy and Managing Director.
Would you miss the fifty first class stamps at Christmas too much, and will you be given a company car ?

Only thing we miss from Royal Mail is

banter - can be found anywhere with decent number of staff
bonus - some company doesn't give bonus.
pension - not many job will offer full pension after 40 years or any pension.
floating week off perks
working outdoor on nice day
going home early some days

But we won't miss

absorbing
managers
increasing workload
stress
working Saturdays

New job at Land Rover / Jaguar sound great but again it depends on what you are doing.

I left 18 months or so ago. Yes miss getting away early but as I'm getting a better wage with better conditions and Saturday/ Sunday is a overtime option and not part of the working week, I'd say leave. Rm isn't worth staying for. I got a job offer back in 2006 and I still wish I took it then and not hummed and arrrghed about leaving rm then n

Leave RM has no future. Even managers will tell you to leave (to save money). Most well respected managers (is their any) realise that rm is doomed.

I would have to say if your in your 40s or less, and have the chance of a full time job somewhere else that looks reasonably steady and secure grab it and go.

Yes, many years ago we would all be saying stay--it's a good job, with good pension etc, not now. Go while you have the opportunity of another job, and good luck.
