I dont mean to go over old ground but i cannot find the link to the above subject so here goes,one of my costomers has got a front porch with a letter box that is so tight that when you put letters through they are creased up when coming out the other side,on this particular day this woman came out and had a right go,one of the things she said was that she wanted me in future is to open the porch door and put the mail through the front door,which i wouldnt have a problem with, but it was when she told me to use my brain, but being a postman she doubted i had one ,that i decided i did have a problem with it, so thats why im looking for the topic regarding porches, im sure i read somewhere that you only have to deliver to the first point of delivery,any info would be grateful.

to save hassle just do as they say, but that parcel that comes early on a saturday, dont leave it in the porch , KNOCK HER UP!

If there's a letter box on the porch door then that's the delivery point. Open the porch door up and put the letters on the floor, that way her letters wont be folded and you've delivered to the correct delivery point. Personally after what she said I would carry on deliverying the mail as you have been, you're not doing anything wrong.

I agree with madmartin open the door and put mail on the floor it's your del point. I personally think (someone may correct me) but if you step into that porch your technically trespassing. Also i would knock for any parcels no answer P739 just to be annoying. People don't learn if their nice we're nice and obliging, if they're rude and nasty we can be very awkward!!

Up date on above topic,i saw the husband ,told him the situ and he took out the draught excluder,sorted,so the moral of the story is ,if you want anything done ask a bloke.
