Bag weights in the snow?

Is there some guidance regarding the above in adverse weather. Surely telling staff no more than 16kg first bag and 11 thereafter on a day like today is ridiculous. I know they are maximum weights and you can have half that in a bag but is there something written down about smaller bag weights when it weather like today.

I'm sure there is something, just like is it 8Kg or even 5Kg limit for multiple floor dwellings with stairs?

• Slip on leaves • Ensure postmen’s shoes/tread are in good condition

We have gone through full revision (it dont work) was told "do not ever use a bag on back from now on" hct's etc health and safety we should not use a bag if we have hct at all so soon as adverse weather comes we cant use hct's ...dom says use bag on back we say it's not ok to use bag with hct but if it's f*ckin snowin and slippy bag on back is ok it's all bull sh*t they turn the rules around to suit themselves

We had same stuff told today. Keep to delivery route but make sure all specials are delivered which for the majority of us means going past half your calls to get rid for one then head back. Reckon they didnt tell you bout lower bag weights as you probably aint got the drivers or vans to take the extra bags.

We got issued with spikes but pulling trolleys in slushy snow was plain stupid.
stopped all overtime in our office and the docket kings aren't happy, they want to stop all the part timers from coming in early to throw off there P/L rounds

Our manager decided to hide away in his office all morning, ignoring requests for guidance on severe weather conditions, the staff did have major concerns regarding bag weights and the use of HCT's on the snow and ice. His reply was a little snow and ice and everybody is panicking. He did promise he would come out and have a meeting, but i guess seeing as he was on the phone to his area manager all morning he was instructed to do otherwise, he came out and just gave the all clear and walked back in his office. Obviously addressing our concerns would have cost time and money... nothing like giving our health & Safety the same level of importance as businesses productivity, next week he'll give us a lecture in WTLL on the importance of Hi-Viz jackets, Typical RM address all the cheap H&S issues that tick the boxes then wonder why we get frustrated!!!!
