There are a few among us who are vertically challenged.......to reach the top shelf on a frame while throwing off our sequenced mail, a few of the shorter people in the office (and some of the taller ones) were standing on boxes to help with the neck/back/arm ache. Our delightful bosses in their wisdom, have purchased kick steps (only one per aisle mind) to use instead. Apparently it's safer.
Personally, I think it's typical RM, rather than solve the problem, they throw money at it. Bit like sitting down on the IPS.........
Just wondering how other offices were getting on with the same problem?
If by top shelf you mean the very top you shouldn't be prepping up there.
RM2000 frames are designed for four levels only.
You certainly should be standing on anything to prep.
Where is your rep?

I believe you meant they shouldn't be standing on anything to prep.
I have seen people standing on trays to use the "top" shelf" - highly unsafe, I'm sure you'll agree.
The correct procedure would be to add another wing to bring the level down or two wings if necessary.
The top shelf can be used for certain things but NOT for prepping a walk.
There isn't as far as I know any provided equipment to enable the top shelf to be used.
Some people complain that the top row (not shelf) makes their arms ache with sequenced mail so they stand on a upside down perstop.
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

Why not just change the sequence they throw it in instead? Some top, some middle, top again, bottom etc.
Thats pretty much what i do.
I tip the boxes on the bench in a line and then take handfulls from different places to vary the area of frame i work on.

That's what the seat is for.
Our frames don't have seats. There's a few stools knocking around (about 5 stools for around a 100 duties ). I sit on the frame kinda sideways and sort the bottom row if I can't find a stool. I tried stack of perstops upside down as a stool but the top one cracked and pinched onto my arse cheek - ouch
Sorry but some of your colleagues must be ridiculously short then...(no offence) but people in my DO - shortest i've seen is like 5'3/4 ... If they do make shorter but longer frames i would struggle - at 6 foot my back hurts when sequencing the bottom mail and i'm 18 LOL! not many of us sit down so you see the point we just all bend down (sounded wrong )and stretch for the lower sections.
