apparently if we had taken ppi on a loan credit card etc we didnt need to as we are covered by our own sick pay scheme!
seems a pretty low trick to me ( but then again im a born cynic) and i would urge anyone who has taken out ppi with a bank? building society to do the work yourselves

Do you mean that ppi would not be worth anything to RM employees as we receive 6 months full pay then 6 months 1/2 pay, any ppi you may have had would have been worthless as you would be in receipt of money while off sick and still receive money for a full year therefore ppi would not pay out and in real terms was mis-sold......Claim it back!!

Mother in law got a letter from her bank,she went in to see them and as she had got a loan out with the PPI thing she's due nearly £3k back!

I dont think this is the case. PPi was sold whether it was genuine sold or missold to cover a specific debt over a specific term. The sickness benefits provided by Royal Mail provide an income to meet general living costs. These only pay out for a maximum period of 1 year and decrease to 50% after six months. It could be that a PPI policy is covering a loan/credit card debt/mortgage over a much longer period, and in some cases also cover the loan in the event of death as well. I am not standing up for PPI policies as I think they are expensive and there were cheaper alternatives, but a company sickness benefits should not be considered as being sufficient or an alternative way of protecting a debt.

Do it yourself... The companies will only claim as much as you will and take a percentage out of it.
