Hi Guys ....

Having been IHR'd in late November,I am now :-
Nursing my health and general well being,back to wheir it should be ( with my GP's and counsellers help and guidance )
Enjoying a life,void of The Royal Mail ( I never thought i'd say that,after 24 yrs service .... )
My IHR lump sum has been invested,in the correct way thanks to my IFA.
However,I was just wondering what anyone gets these days,if they are made redundant?
I have a friend who has heard whispers,about people from his office being made redundant
Is it something like a week and a halves wages,for ever year youv'e worked for the business?

0.5 weeks pay for each full year of service where your age was under 22
1 weeks pay for each full year of service where your age was 22 or above, but under 41
1.5 weeks pay for each full year of service where your age was 41 or above


It seems that's the norm, but up to a maximum of £380/week. That was from a .gov website, RM probably have their own ways, but that is the minimum by law.

I believe the Royal Mail voluntary redundancy deal pays out somewhere around 3.75 times the government minimum. Please feel free to shoot me down if this is incorrect as I can only recall seeing figures like this somewhere on this forum.

max you get for ill health retirement is 34weeks pay plus 12 weeks p.i.l.o.n. (Payment in lieu of notice) giving you 46 weeks pay. of course if you,re old enough you can get a good lump sum and a monthly pension payment as well. that would depend entirely on the length of time you have been paying into it.but pay wise it 46 weeks max.
