the BIG picture

Hi all, just had a meeting with dom and a session which was entitled the BIG picture
teams of posties being asked to interact together to see if they understand RM's plans for delivery methods
this involves sticking things on posters and picture cards showing how we did things and then how we are now going to proceed
with new duties and delivery implementations.
honestly thought this was an insult to myself and my colleagues inteligence,i think this would even bore an 8 year old with enthusiasm.
still this has been happening in my unit all last week and is still continuing.
even the dom looks P----d off.
my point is that when a meaningful question is put they still have no answers
other than to say you need to see the BIG picture to understand everthing there is no logic in what they tell you and the planners do not have to
sit in these sessions at all.
Therefore my question to the planners is if your not involved with the BIG picture how do you know what you are doing is correct and will benefit the business
and it's employees.
i am sure this must be going to be replecated in a delivery office near you all somewhere in the future
you could not make it up? it's unbeleivable that a company like RM could even contemplate it's future by sticking bit's of paper on to charts to educate it's workforce.

yeah me and a team of ten did this last week and it was a complete waste of time nearly two hours!! really two hours of what would amazon want, what would a customer like and where can we help. We were so bored by the end we just nodded and agreed with everything said, so we could do the job we are paid to do. Thats one way we can help.

the big picture is to makesure you really dont enjoy your job, start turning against your colleagues and being bitchy, making sure you dont have any paid breaks as meal relief will be taken away, also when you want a day off you wont get it, and also making sure you are in pain, because you legs and knees and worn away.

Got mine tomorrow. What kind of meaningful questions did you ask as i'll ask them tomorrow and see what answers i get back? Love seeing them squirm when they dont have any answers.

If you think, the Big Picture is bad , wait until you get the indoor work/ flow talk and how the workforce can improve it!. Still you get an hours O/T for this one too!.

Big picture and flow, had a month or so back, managements way of trying to convince us that they know what they are doing and what they are doing is right and of course will work like a dream.

I thought that the best bit of it was when they said we have all got to start with a blank canvas and see which is the best way to do things ..... Oh and by the way you will all be having shared vans with park and loop !!
Total waste of 2+ hours and the manager seemed to actually believe it was all gonna be fine ...... Muppet
