Mailsort Mail looking like special Delivery

Had some Mailsort mail today which looked just like a special delivery item .
It was silver had the barcode and had 'preferred special delivery ' in all the same colours as ours.
Surely some firms cant get away with this as I thought Special Delivery was a trademark.
Also whats the betting we get people complaining they havent had to sign for it.

We had one through our door today. Proper typeface and even has a fake barcode.

He term " royal mail special delivery" is a trademark registered to RM group

Interestingly the term "postman" is also a regd trademark to RM group

I had a foreign "special delivery" today...that looked like mailsort.

Unless it comes from the RLE then it's not treated as a special.....................and TBH I'd scan in any code that I see, if it goes in then they need a signature and if not then it just gets delivered.

i had 2 of these today had to look again so much like a special

i think they are from one of these cash for gold places you pop old gold in pre paid special delivery envelope which is in the fake special and take it to post office

Often get 'official' looking letters, you know, the ones that look like they are stamped with 'Priority' or similar, or 'Official Correspondence'. I get a real thrill out of using the freepost envelope provided to reply on a rainy day with my thoughts.. In my experience, they're all usually for some Irish lottery..

My opinion = they look TOO official.. I mean.. how many people fall for it?.. it's sad.

Been goling for years these, the old ladies fall for it , usually damart or a catalogue looking like a recorded or special , always look for the M mailsort mark.

The 'm', '1' or '2' PPI mark doesn't prove anything as it often, especially '1', remains on an envelope that has been upgraded to Special Delivery.
