Who trusts a manager?
When would i get the hours back?
What about part-timers and earnings?

On the other hand it would be the only thing i can think of that would guarantee to at least make the members stop and think about the way they carve the job up.
It is the ultimate "paid for the hours you work" system.

To have a chance of working it would need three things in place.
Managers working their paid hours to provide supervision of the system.
Everyone returning to the D.O. after completion.
An electronic card system for clocking on/off.
Pros and cons and does anyone actually have an actual "locally agreed"(even though you shouldn't have) proper system of banking hours....not just a management dictated one.

Banking of hours is a good idea but as you said, 'who trusts a manager?' and it would stop some people carving the job up, me personally, I love having extra time off but again, with the lack of staff to actually cover annual leave it would get really sticky

I would also like to see on the list, us who are banking any hours if it did ever come in having a say on when we took the banked hours. Not being told by some crooked manager when we can have them, who has no consideration for fairness and equality (a phrase which was often used by RM just never implement it)....

Flexibility will work one way and it won't be in the Posties favour, you can bank as much as you like, but when you want to use it, they move the goal post.

RM managers cannot manage organising annual holiday rotas. What chance have they of organising giving back hours, and there would be no chance of underworking your contracted hours and owing them time.

The only ones who regularly work under their contracted hours seem to be the ones who are carving up the job and cutting corners to get done early. We have a hard core of people just like that in our office and most if not all will be the first to moan if, or when, RM decide to casualise the job with flexi time or cut our contracted hours. Muppets.

Yes I have been banking hour for sometime now, it had been working fine until a couple of weeks ago when I had 2 days booked. I was told 2 days before that I could not have them I said that I had already arranged things but this cut no ice with the I am better than you manager. I was told I had to work, shitbags. So now it is back to if I can't get the job done in the time I will bring it back.
