Info after IHR please

Hi All,

1: Can I use a rep for an appeal with DWP even though I am no longer employed with royal mail?

2: I had to take IHR early last year and my health is no better, infact getting worse if anything. Thanks to ATOS, my DOM and rehabworks they have made me even worse thanks for that.
I recently had an assessment with ATOS for the DWP and you need 15 points to qualify for employment and support allowance and yep you guessed it I got a big fat zero, what planet are these people on? I have medical proof that my so called back to work programme has made me worse i.e I was pushed to get back to work way to early and I had torn muscles doing physio at rehabworks. As ATOS work with royal mail I think they are covering up a big F@@K up! Where do I go from here guys/gals? lots of ex colleagues say sue the pants off RM? I am going nuts and to top it off I do not get any benifits at all now.......Thank you all for reading my moan.

Not sure if the DWP would allow you to bring in an outside advisor so it may be best to join this forum and ask around http://dwpexaminations.blacktrianglecam ... rg/phpBB3/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; they have various threads about ATOS in there.

However, from the Union side I think you would need to be a member still for them to do it in an official capacity IF THEY ARE ALLOWED. If you are, try contacting Linda Roy I believe she is the Disability/Equality person at HQ so she may be able to point you in the right direction. If you not in the Union then they may be able to do it on a voluntary basis so you would probably have to know the rep very well indeed for them to sacrifice a days pay.

As Mazza would know,I too have joined the ranks of postman being IHR'd!
Am really sorry to hear about your medical assessment.I too faced the same dilemma,having been deemed by an ATOS knob over the phone,that I was fit to return to work ( via a rehab plan )
This is a decision that my GP totally disagreed with.This triggered a meeting with my DOM and Union Rep ( wheir we all agreed,I was in no way fit enough to return to work )
Anyways,that all triggered a medical assessment at my local job centre with ATOS.
I too,answered honestly and faithfully ................ Only to hear a few days later,that my bit of benefit would stop!
I really feel for you ...
My sick note ( which the GP gave me a three month certificate,while I was still with Royal Fail ) finishes on friday.
However,I will NOT be actively looking for work ( thanks to my gp's advice,and my IHR lump sum working VERY well for me ).
Will I be hearing from The DWP/Job Centre,with them wanting to see me to discuss what my plans are?

My thinking is ... The Royal Mail,is a sinking ship ( Sorry Terrier )
It seems to me as if the business is drilling another hole into that ships hull,on a daily basis .
Especially after hearing what the moral is like,among my ex colleagues ..
I know EVERYONE'S health always comes FIRST ...But their is absolutely no way that I would of EVER been fit enough to even begin to think about going back into Royal Mail.
So for me,IHR has done me a favor health wise ... ( time will tell )

Just a bit of advice for you mate and that is log everything that ATOSSERS say and do and when they say they are recording the interview over the phone tell them you are also. I did but some didn't like it

I recorded the DOM talking to me like he had something on the bottom of his shoe and hey presto after nearly getting him the sack he has gone up in his job 'Justice pffffff'. It also makes me laugh that linos with a health issues can stay in work but we can't.

och no that bit's already done and dusted, been out almost a year now, but got signed unfit for work a couple of months ago, guess here comes the ATOS medical for DWP now.

They are worse than RM ATOS, Make sure you get a proper examination, rather than the questions from the computer screen, and get the copies of reports.

No I think they just as bad as the RM ATOS

I've seen 3 different ATOS "doctors" all came up with conflicting opinions
