we were moving in feb then apr then june now it could be late september is there a chance were not moving ??

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

We were told last year that we would be joining another office 8 miles away and our building sold. We are still here. 
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

Yep, we're moving too! Over 20 miles away! Last summer at the latest...Autumn....just before Christmas ( "ha ha ha, you lot had better get your act together 'cos it's gonna be chaos")...Def before April....Decision will be made def before April.....could be May now tho...prob will be moved in before winter kicks in.....looking like just before christmas etc etc etc

Whats the collective wisdom on RM office moves?
Theres been talk of one here with a tie-up with another office not sure how real this is but it would be good to know how RM deal with it in practice as there have been a number of people potentially scaremongering
1) If the 'new' office is miles from the old one is a 'payment' due?
1a) Are there any other payments one off or otherwise associated with moves
2) Do RM have to make a provision for parking in areas where theres no or very little public transport in the early mornings
2a) What happens to people who have serious and genuine problems getting to the new office?
3) We lost our catering a while back if theres more than 1 office together is it likely we'd get it back?
4) What happens to people that don't want to move are they paid off or 'sacked'

Moving questions:- Well this was what I found out about 25 years ago, don't know if it is still employment law. (Note employment law, not what your company thinks it should do)!
If you are asked to move anywhere then either a fuel allowance or transport should be provided for a period of 2 years.
If the move is over a certain distance (it was 5 miles), then redundancy should be offered as an option.
A canteen needs to be provided if there are 10 (I think) or more employees at any one time on site.
Find your own parking.
As for one off payments, there is again a distance, but that would only be if you had to relocate where you live, RM wouldn't bother, they 'd just get someone else off the street.
