He posted the note in record time (he probably wrote it before he commenced his round and had no intention of delivering my parcel) and walked off. Don't expect a service from them at the best of times!”

a drivers card is needed ..i often get people comimg after me ..after i have put one of the previous days driver cards thru the door ..it can get a bit wearing at times ..getting the ..i dont believe you look ..or the classic ...but i was in all day yesterday ...

There have been some reports that cards have been left without knocking. This makes no sense for a walking postie as you have to carry the item around with you.

I think we found out last time that a few drivers were writing out cards before leaving the office and putting the item straight into the collection office.

Finally i always knock and ring a bell if they have one.

I will always ring the doorbell and then knock the door in a normal manner.

IF they then ask why I did not knock when they chase me down the road I always reply that I did knock and ring the bell but you can't have heard it etc. same as if they ask why when they collect the item from the office.

then every time I have something that possibly needs a P739 left, I knock the door so F***ing hard it almost comes of its hinges.

I have had a couple of people complain that I knock too hard since, but I reply with " at least you heard me this time "

on my duty the wife tells you not to ring the bell as the infant might be sleeping, then husband tells you to chap louder lol you can't win

Not just drivers,there are walking postman do it too at my do,they say that they are never in so whats it matter,the bloke that works next to me on a hct duty does it all the time where he has blocks of flats and the letterboxes are all on the ground floor so he never gets caught out,the walking postie can put it as a docket left same as a driver can

If there is a bell I use that. If I can't hear it then I knock, though with cold hands it maybe a bit lame, better than waiting and writing a card out and them saying when you half way down the path 'The bell doesn't work' (Well put a note on it then dear).
There are always the oddball customers who say either:-
The bell works no need to knock as well! ( Reply- I can't hear the bell out here though or I wouldn't have knocked).
Or you hear the bell ring, you wait a bit, start writing a card, then miraculously the door opens and they say 'Oh the bell doesn't work' I may ask why they opened the door then? But only if it is a solid door!
Or you put a card through and the door opens and they say 'I was in the back garden' - See reply above.
