What is the lapsing agreement should you laps on your day off should your office hold a vacancy open for the sole purpose of lapsing

Today they send a guy down to another office to help out and we have to lapse today as well.

Next week, apparently, we are meant to be lapsing everyday but we aint had no
resource meeting for next week yet.

Now the next question.
They want us to lapse. They want us to take the mail out with us when we go out on delivery.
Some of us have said that we will lapse if we have the time and therefore we dont want
to take the mail with us as that means that we have to deliver it.
Dom says we must take it with us but doesnt give it to us in writing that we can bring it back
if we are going to be over our time.
Is this right? Can he MAKE us take the lapsing bit even if we tell him we are unsure as to whether we
can complete within our time and we dont want to go over?

He can make you do anything but he can't make you work over your time, if they want you to take out the lapsing and you are going to go over your time on your own duty then just leave part of your duty behind. Just be firm and tell your DOM you can't do it within your time and don't let him say otherwise.

Been lasping Mon-Sat for longer than I care to remember.

When you say you can't work over your time they start being all nice (makes my f***ing skin crawl) and asking if you'll just go over a little because they haven't got any spare staff (yes, people off on leave, sick and duties left uncovered because they believe traffic will be low and we will lapse - and they know this a week in advance!?)
