Has anyone been told about holidays been taken by hours

Hi We had a WtL today, one of the discussiona or told was that we are changing payroll numbers and that in future our holidays will be diced on how may hours we have accumalated rather then just say we want a aday off our total,

Anyone heard of this

It's just another waste of money which RM (allegediy) can't afford.

Actually, it think it's the opposite of that. The way that annual leave is calculated in hours is a standard feature of the new system so it would have cost more to have it changed to days. Doing it by hours is far simpler.

it is done on hours but your statutory leave entitlement will not change

In most jobs, holidays are calculated on the number of days you work, but with all these wierd and wonderful shift patterns now in place (often following P&L revision) something had to change.

Not sure that's much of an issue at the moment as a lot of money has been spent on making the new system work with weekly pay. No doubt some bright spark will raise it again in a few years.
