Trying out 20 rural jobs

Heard that by the end of the month in my office they are going to try out 20 of the new proposed rural jobs, it's crazy really as it's only on stage 2 with the union.
Haven't spoke to the reps about it yet, as we don't get on very well.

at the end of the day personalities do not come into it

if you need to raise a concern then do it for the benefit of the office.

nothing will change from what i understand, its a pilot, test, thats all
frames will change, days off will be the same

at the end of the day

JUST DO YOUR 8 HOURS
DONT COME IN EARLY
COME IN DEAD ON TIME
TAKE YOUR FULL 40 MINUTE BREAK
AND CUT OFF IF YOU CANT COMPLETE

I come in about a hr early sometimes, just to help them out a bit.

but i ask the question

why do you come in an hour early

if they said you had to work an hours overtime each day without pay, you would say frack off

but that is exactly what is happening

you comming in early, finishing early is all they see

then the staff moan about management lapsing jobs

people are there own worst enemy

just do the job as to the 318

they are prob having breakfast in the canteen and supporting it

like every other member of staff should be

you get paid for your break so use it

staff will moan when they put the canteen staff out of a job

that may be your opinion but the truth is in the pudding

nothing it seems has been decided yet so i would wait before casting negative assumptions

remember, reps have had traning on the revisions etc, staff have not

its not all about delivery spans

we have the employment and equality acts to consider. reps have to face the wrath of the dsm when they are putting in stage 1 disagreements each week

before stating misconceived comments think what the reps are doing on your behalf for your welfare

if you are not happy with the status quo then stand as a rep yourself

nobody will be getting anything easy

the resign will see to that

i know one of the reps is covered under the disability discrimination act and is on full time union release being a branch official and the other is on release until implementation of the revision

Nobody else would do it Keith, don't think they realise that you are doing union stuff out of work hours too.
I will be happy along as jobs are all fair and can complete them without rushing around.

Not my rep, or the one before him. They were always taking stuff home to work on, in fact sometimes I help them, we also have a committee, of which I am a member, that meets outside working hours.

Unless you know keithposty, which is doubtful, then your generalising of reps is unfair and biased. Yes there are poor reps who are in it for themselves, but there are also reps who put in hours of unpaid work, who give their utmost to get the best deals they can for ungrateful and blinkered colleagues, who go toe-to-toe with managers when posties have cocked up.

So I shall say it again - your rep may be lazy and in it for an easy life, but it does not mean they all are. In fact from all the Threads keithposty has started, a lot of them in the afternoon and evening, it seems to indicate he is working hard to make sure his colleagues get the best revision possible, and in his own free time as well.

I wasn't at work today, but have heard they had a big gather around. Union have agreed changes without the staff even having a vote on, they are going to bring in a few revised rounds at a time or something.
