Service Call Sampling next week
Luckily im on leave next week but office have been given a piece of paper where they have to record packets, recordeds, specials and tracked items for the whole week. We are going through the early stages of the P&L revision and planner wants this to get info about how many packets etc each delivery has. Does this seem a decent way of feeding info into georoute for future revision and is this how its done?

Re: Service Call Sampling next week
Its obviously going to be a predicted light week at your office then. Been done many times at my place......on light weeks
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets
Illegitimi non carborundum

No, it does not work. All it records is what each delivery gets now. They dont record what roads they are or anything like that. So when they mess around and give you your new walk it can be a combination of 3 old walks. Hence packet/parcel data is useless. If your revision is anything like ours then they will make a loop containing the streets that get most packets without even having a clue about it.

I can tell you one thing from my experiance, these packet counts are vital!!
They count towards manual intervention which can take from my revision upto 45 mins off a walk, make sure counts are done and people take it seriously, i can't stress enough how important this information is.

They did in my office, i'm the rep there and just finished the walks and this was the biggest factor between a walk being to big or doable.bringon4dayweeks wrote:they wont take any noticeAnotherLimey wrote:I can tell you one thing from my experiance, these packet counts are vital!!

Re: Service Call Sampling next week
From the two months iv'e just spent making walks with the planner in WAS broken down into roads, so as new walks were made each road would have an average count, we have 31 walks planned and from my 25 years experiance i would say we are gonna have a problem with two pairs, the walks in general have came out quite good, it's the indoor time that ha been cut to the bone and will cause the problem for completing the walks.bag69 wrote:No, it does not work. Re: Service Call Sampling next week
We've just had a week of packets/signatures sampling (not call rate this time), everyday my walk has had way over a 3% attendence rate (more like 5-6%, which it typically does) it goes way beyond a 3.5 hour delivery span, yet today I had perhaps one call over the 3% attendence and my walk actually "worked" for the first time this week. While I might not be the duty holder after the resign, I hope for the poor sod who ends up with it that the route is shortened, or the shift pattern gives them more delivery span time so complete without the daily choice of extended or cut-off.
Make sure you capture everything, even those DVDs that are often squashed into the frame slots (won't be an attendence call for many letterboxes, but will for some). If you have businesses, remember not only to consider the packet size, but also if you have to wait (even for a couple of seconds) to hand over anything to a member of staff (you may well get an attendence call while simply trying to deliver letters with no packets).

Re: Service Call Sampling next week
Do the count on postcodes, that way you will get what roads(blocks of flats) are getting the most calls, with walk sequencing they won't spilt postcodes so when geo-route prints out the new walks/P/L, you can make sure that those areas have got a higher call rate, that should add time to those walks. As AnotherLimey has said it can make a lot of diffrencebag69 wrote:No, it does not work. All it records is what each delivery gets now. They dont record what roads they are or anything like that.
