IHR Update

Hi. I wrote a topic a while ago as as Royal Mail wanted me to go to an IHR meeting with ATOS due to my condition in my lower extremities shall we say.
Many thanks to all that responded, today the doctor said he was recommending IHR as my it was clear that I was struggling to walk and that with my pressure pain, if my surgery is unsuccessful I may need orchidectomy. Therefore with no planned RTW date and myself having to use a stick to support he recommended me. After searching the thread a few people said it happens quick and does the value of any IHR go on length of service?

One good point today thought was the doctor was very clued up and told me that he was unsuprised as he said "we are getting lots of IHR recommendations" and when i told him about my past trouble and grievances with management at the DO he said "yes they do seem the heartless bastards from what I hear" i was stunned to say the least.

Thanks again for all the past responses hopefully it will all be sorted soon.

The first Dr I saw told ME I wasn't fit for work, I didn't have to tell him much about what was wrong. He said to me that there was no point trying to ask me to go back in on light duties because they'd only be pestering me and pressurising me to do more than I was able and so he recommended I stayed off work <~~~ was the actual look on my face lol

When I went to see ATOS doc they were surprised I was there as I had only 2/3 days off with my knees. Were surprised I was managing to do anything

Yes I had a good Atos doctor at first who was on my side and even the union rep said she was fair and good,then they got rid of her and got a heartless fecker in who couldn't wait to don the black cap.

Well I have had the DOM on the phone saying he has the offer in hand and can I come in on Thurs at 11am to discuss. I am 6 years 8 months service working on a full time contract. Anybody know what this offer may be, The union are requesting clarification on DDA as we a just about to have our repick and they want to know if a duty can be created so I am prepared for a pretty lengthy discussion tomorrow. Any advice on how to approach tomorrow would be welcome.

I would pretty much say it depends on exactly what you want to do, but more importantly what do you feel you are capable of doing and if a duty can be tailored to suit your needs. See what they are offering first and if you don't consider it to be reasonable then hold out for them to find a solution.
