who fills in ot docket ?
in our do we tell our line manager we are going to be late fair enough
the answer from them is how long ,give me an estimate, how can it take you that long etc,etc
next day i will ask for docket to fill in yesterdays ot regardless of how long ot took( may even be shorter than estimate)
mgmt answer its ok its been filled in ,was put in yesterday.
i will then ask what was put in reply to that is what you said.
point is who fills in docket if managers filling in dockets for someone else is that not fraud
they are signing off ot for myself and others without our knowledge of what time was worked .the amounts are also not accurate for instance in payslip today i quoted 1hr last week ot in pay 45min now if this is happening with others surely this is fraud.
if we ask for docket to sign ourself next day always fobbed off with excuses .
mgmt hold onto dockets on their person all the time and maintain our ot is put in by them
should this be happening at all.
it seems like intimidation and getting people not to claim what they worked and is causing confrontation.
should we insist on signing our name to ot docket for the purpose of actually seeing correct ot has been entered and not left to mgmt to manipulate figures

Sackable offence for anyone (including the untouchable managers) and could lead to imprisonment.

Almost had a manager sacked about a year ago because she changed something on a docket entry (corrected it or something). She only got a reprieve because they didn't suspend her.

If you make a mistake on your entry, get your manager to initial the changes. Never over claim, even by 1 minute, never under claim, even by 1 minute.

Always double check the entry BEFORE you sign, and always sign for it yourself. This cannot be stressed enough.

Seriously, never EVER f**k with docket (or anything money related, RM goes for blood, just like mail theft)

i put a stop to this practice after a meeting with the dsm. he instructed all doms the next day.

what was happening was the dom was crossing out peoples overtime saying you owe me xyz as you finished early on tuesday. that is fraud. the correct proceedure is

1/ ask your line manager for the 552 as you are booking docket
2/ you fill it in and the manager there and then authorises it.
3/ if he fails to authorise then he needs to give you a reason. if you disagree then put in a grievance
4/ if you find out you are short on your pay day demand an explanation and put in a grievance if needed

i ended this in my branch by quoting section 13 of the employment rights act, unlawful deduction of wages

this practice of creative accounting no longer happens

We claim OT over phone (small office) & lino writes it down. But we also send a weekly 552 to MC. DOM questioned why we do both -
`because lino cannot be trusted and fiddles the figures` we told him.. Works perfectly.
