pouch boxes and mail integrity

should we be leaving packets ,recordeds, special deliv items in pouch boxes overnight or even ofer whole weekends.
the reason we do is to cut back on length of ot on returning items to local po
deliv office is 5miles away
security team was in the other day but are unaware this practise goes on was going to mention it to them.
our line manager instructs us to use this practise of leaving specials over the weekend in pouch boxes rather than getting them uplifted by van later.
saturdays local po shuts at 12.30 we are usually still delivering until after 1300 so where do we or should we put specials over weekend nb, mgmt will not confirm in writing we should leave stuff in pouch boxes

It goes to show how thick some line managers are. Anyone with a bit of sense should see this is wrong

No way should you be doing that. Raise it with your line managers manager and even above that if you have too. Managers like this need to be ousted and hopefully sacked.
