How long can my fella have off?

Does anybody know how the long term sick works please? My fella has been off work for a month recently, then he came back for two weeks now a specialist has told him he has to a further six months off because of his condition. Has it got to be six month period in one or will that month count and he has only five months left, asked in the office yesterday nobody seems to know?

yes six months full pay and half pay for the other six months so if you had one month then you have 5 month of full pay left i believe you cant repeat this again within 4 years

if it was an injury on duty then its full pay all the way but as stated, 6 months otherwise

I didn't realise it was full pay indefinitely if it is an AOD, i was led to believe it was 6mths full pay, then 6mths half pay.

get someone to find the agreement were it says a.o.d will be payed full pay after 6 months i had a a.o.d and was told my pay would drop so cheak first

My 'fella' has been 'off' for years now but as long as I go into work then the DOM is happy................ :nervous
