Recently started in last 12 months. The workplace doesn't bring me down at all. I get really pissed off but not long term down. I put it down to a couple of things.
One, my last place of employment was a real s**t job working with complete mindless freaks and no hope of improvement, it descended in fact. It was so bad for so long I had physical signs of stress, pre-age grey hair, skin issues, etc. I was proper grumpy then - for years. So with that experience nothing much can touch me at RM.
Two, I don't take it seriously. It's the first job where I can say this, and I joined up thinking I would be as serious about it as all past employment. I will/do walk back across the walk to get an NHS appointment to an address if missorted, I do go out of my way to make sure cards are there on the day, I like to think i do a good job by the customers. But what they ask me to do in the office, and the whole atmosphere of no training what so ever has put an unexpected approach in my mind. Picture luna lovegood the spacey one from harry potter. It just doesn't connect with me somehow. That said I'm more than aware that those with folk to support outside of work have a very bad time of it. For myself if i'm sacked - it's lifes rich tapestry and I'll still be alive. I couldn't do the job with people to support - it's way to shaky for me to feel comfortable in RM employment.
However, I'm noticing more and more how the walk is building up in my mind so I don't want to do it, but it's always much less doing it than thinking about it. It is a long walk.
The drop points on my walk are good, and the people make it fine.
Hope that gives you an insight that's helpful in some way.
