Dog bites query

Today got bitten twice by a big mastiff type dog on my round. The house had its front door open with the occupant standing in the doorway, went to walk up the path to give her the letters and this huge dog ran past her and bit me hard twice on both thighs.
I got the usual "hes never done that before" and she goes back indoors.
I contacted my Dom and reported the incident and went back to my office to show the Dom.
Went back on delivery and he text me asking to send a picture to the dog warden.
Is this the right proceedure?

Take them it will act as evidence have you had a tetanus did it get recorded in the accident book

The only part I find uncomfortable with is your DIM wants you to send pictures by mms ,If I were you I would take pictures that im happy with get them developed and hand to DIM to forward on to dog warden.

If it was me I'd be taking myself to the police station. Appreciate not everyone is of that same opinion.

I could be wrong but I thought you had to fill in a dog incident report within 24 hours and your manager unless I'm imagining it took photos of your injury ?

I would not have gone back out on delivery.

You need to 1. go to the police,
2. Write out a report including Accident report (Erica)
3. If in the union contact Legal & Medical,
4 Keep taking picture's of the wound over the next week
5. If you need to go to the doctors keep all dates and if you need any prescriptions keep copies

Rm have an insurance scheme for dog attacks ask manager about it.

Eastie read, digest and if need be kindly remind your DOM or line manager of their duties towards your health and safety with regards to dogs.

Since found out that the dog ( it was a Rottweiller cross) is on the dangerous dogs register after attacking someone else as well, according to the police.
This begs the question why postmen dont get told about this if these dogs are on their round.
Give my DOM his due he went round the house to confront the owner and has banned deliveries to the house.
