Now that we get paid a set amount for d2d,s each week, does anyone know the rules regarding what we have to deliver if the d2d,s turn up late for us to deliver. Sometimes ours don,t turn up until wednesday. do we still have to deliver them all, or just a certain percentage?

You would be expected to carry the excess over to the following week I think, well thats the case my line manager has said to us.

do a 6th a day and go home or do them over the days left and claim the overtime, they are supposed to be done that week as the client pays for them to be delivered within a certain time span, they are into work load, so like i said it's up to you, just work your hours or if they take you over your hours then claim

special attention will need to be given to Bank Holiday weeks through the weekly resourcing meetings, units will also need to have agreed contingency arrangements in place for late arrivals.

Why do so many units have no plan for dealing with Bank Holiday weeks and late arrivals.
What are the reps doing at the weekly resource meetings?

The principles are simple.
1.D2D is just another mail stream.
2.If it's due to be delivered that week it gets delivered that week.
3.If you have 6 days to deliver you deliver 1/6th per day,5 days...1/5th,4 days...1/4tr etc,etc.
4.Any impact this has on weight in an office that hasn't had a delivery methods revision must be addressed by management.
5.Any impact this has on your ability to complete your delivery must be addressed by management.

It's not rocket science.
For an OPG to say "i'm only doing 1/6th" without written clearance from management is dangerous.
For a manager to say "just roll them over to next week" without clearance from a DSM is doubly dangerous because when the s**t hits the fan there's every chance he/she will deny it.
I would want that one in writing as well.

sat i noticed i have 6 differant D2Ds waiting for me all different sizes ,thin paper ,small , big ,you all know the score,no time allowed etc, what gets me is that the delivery next to me has only 1 and as his round is slightly larger than me he gets time of the IPS to prep them, what it is to be a friend of the DOM!!

FT has it right, they are in the workload now so all you do is spread them over the remaining days and if you're going to go over then claim ot/cut off/leave sections behind but that's up to the manager to decide, they're paid the big money so let them earn it.

You should think yourselfs lucky here in scotland we had an extra day off last week (not that i trying to rub it in or anything), anyway what it meant was we started back on the wednesday and had 4 d2d,s to prep and 2 days less time to do them dom also told us to "do the best we can" had to ask him what that actually meant turns out we also could move them over to this week where we suddenly dont have any d2d,s this week only in Royal Mail !

Wonder if he asked the D2D clients if it was ok to move them from the week they booked.

In the 2010 Agreement it states "special attention will need to be given to bank holiday weeks through the weekly resourcing meetings, units will also need to have agreed contingency arrangements in place for late arrivals" what if any have been agreed other than take them next week. A total farce there is no direction from the cwu or royal mail just get on with it . The customer has paid for the d2d to be delivered in that week not the week after or after that.

so you had d2d over christmas and new year ?
