planners throw toys out of the pram

i went down like a lead baloon today with the planners and dsm today.

i demanded that all the sid and sarah be done again with the geo route.
i fianally got the pegasus program all to myself through the intranet and i pulled it to pieces

path lengths not accounted for
speed limits set at default (we have 20 mph zones)
no access roads
etc,etc

the problem with pegasus and the mapping is that it does not like anything that is not in a straight line
for instance, take a cul-de-sac
manual intervention is done as it cant handle the u-bend bit of the road with houses.
it calculate the distance say to 6 houses from one spot out. so in essesance you will be going through gardens on the mapping.

told the planners that if you are using the agreed tools, THEN USE THEM IN ALL THE 5 MINUTE BLOCKS

told them they were not allowing access and put in a stage 1 disagreement

it was true as written requests had been made and they kept on giving excuses

remember people

before the revision process starts the rep needs to speak up and go on a pegasus/revision course so he/she knows what is going on with there creative accounting thats to come

i am holding up my revison not because ime sticking the knife in, but i want a fair and balanced workload

correct me if ime wrong but you cant upload the pegasus program as it has a comercial licence and you cant take it off the intranet

that is why you go on a pegasus/geo route course

but management fail to tell you that

put it in writing to your dom that you require to go on the pegassus/geo route course prior to the planners going in

they will not tell you about this but they cannot refuse and will not like it (tough)

make sure you get full time release as well
