do posties deliver on bank holidays?

The other day i was on the bus with my wife coming back from the sales when i noticed a postie in a drive with a sack and uniform i thought nothing about this till i relised it was bank holiday monday, and paniced i missed a shift anyone know what this postie was up to and did anyone else delivery on bank holiday?

not illegal in anyway, they dont need to ask permission to do sunday deliverys etc and even if they did there would be no law against it, you will probably find its an office recently gone through a revision with a backlog and a postie doing some bank holiday ot, or its the pizza leaflet guy using a RM bag and jacket

Round my way there is a lady who delivers the freebie paper and uses what looks like a rm bag. Only when you get up close you can see it's very similar with two yellow reflective bands not one. She also wears a orange jacket which again looks rm ish but it's not.

Ahh, our office apparently had to ask for permission for sunday deliveries during bad weather to clear backlog. Are you sure?

absolutely no law against it, your office probably had to ask for permission from sector manager for the overtime spend not the permission to deliver on the sunday, there is no law anywhere which prohibits it
