Now, until the results of the 'Your view' opinion survey dropped through my letter box this morning I would have had trouble believing this!

I just can't get rid of the smell of bull waste since receiving this news this morning ; although I do live next to a dairy farm - honest!
The figures are probably true - but as for the sample surveyees, the majority must have been managers because I cannot see RM's budget stretching to putting happy pills in the coffee machines. All I know is that if the same survey was conducted in my office then Moya would have received a completely different result.

Bring on the Spring survey, that's what I say!

Well I could name a few who reside in London who swallow everything RM say as though it has been written on stone tablets and then spout it to the membership as being fact - remarkable really because it amounts to little more than rumour and propaganda.

I mean really why would you publish such rubbish - 30,000 sent out, almost half replied - so I have two questions:

What compelled people to respond
What persuaded people NOT to reply

I wonder what the result would be if every single employee was compelled to complete a questionaire truthfully.

were these workers from all over the workforce or only those places that are ok with their working conditions etc, ie: MC's etc and how meny swere sent out to front line posties?

These surveys make you laugh. Everyone i speak to from 2 diferent offices (walking posties) are fed up to the back teeth and want to get out asap.

These things are easily rigged. Favourites are encouraged to fill out their forms and people with self-respect are given their forms just before the deadline, if at all. However, of the forms that found their way back, a large number of respondents could not bring themselves to tick the boxes that would have provided the desired feedback.

Almost a third of staff don't think that they are treated fairly and with respect by their line managers. Over a third do not believe that RM take our safety seriously and over a third do not believe that RM has tackled bullies.

Bullying occurs in RM because managers are afraid to tackle the bullies themselves and they have let the bullies have what they want. In some units, where the managers are particularly weak, the bullies run the show.

No doubt management will try and solve this problem by identifying and sacking the non-compliant 40% of the workforce (regardless of whether they are good at their job) and replacing them with casuals. Anyone thinking of buying RM should be aware of the quality of management the Government is trying to sell them.

We all know RM they can't lie straight in bed..... Random selection my a..e!!!! Certain offices will have been identified and then "Toadies" in that office would have had the questionaire, another con..... Just think of your own office there may be half a dozen management informers and a..e lickers who are happy with their lot in ours and i'm not on about pay, just the constant unfair / unreasonable treatment in our office, set aside the inefficient manner in which they manage to keep the "toadies" happy.......

Well if you was to spin it like RM spins strike ballots , since only 10% of the work force voted and the results out of the people who voted were line managers treat us fairly and with respect 70% of us say this, 60% of say that RM take our safety seriously, 60% of us say that RM demonstrate that there is no place in the workplace for bullying. That means 7% say line managers treat us fairly so 93% say they treat us like crap , 6% say safety is taken seriously so 94% RM couldn't give a s*** about our safety and 6% say RM demonstrate that there is no place in the workplace for bullying and 94% say bullying is tolerated and encouraged by RM.

So even with a selective survey and poor response rate, they only maanged to get upto 60% final figure? How dire is that?

I'll tell you something I heard a couple of years ago from a mate who works in an office which had poor results for management B&H and was being monitored. The DOM would fill in any spare Have Your Say questionaires for anyone on long term sick etc. Fill in nine or ten questionaires with answers to suit you and in a delivery office of around 90 people and you can sway the result.
