We have D2D's in for next week even though we only have 4 days to do them.
One postie said that they were going to take some out tomorrow because they wouldn't have time next week

Sorry........We only have 3 days to do them because we have a local agreement that no D2Ds would be done on a Saturday
but last time they told us national agreement would take precedence.

You should also have a contingency plan for dealing with bank holidays.
I would imagine that includes saturday delivery...it usually does.
I don't see the problem unless you're trying to either make time or do the impossible.
What do you do when you get a bulk posting for 100% of your doors?
Never understand people's problems with door 2 doors these days. Bring on 6 or 7 or 8 lots, I dont give a damm. They are now part of your work load so you get extra time to chuck them in, and if doing 6 lots over 5/6 days takes your over your time every day then inform manager and it's there problem.

In Jockland they get an extra day off over the New Year and he's already said that they don't deliver them on Saturday (local agreement) so that makes 3 days.

But you don't do 1 per day, you divide up the DPs by 6/5 and then deliver all of them within that time. Remember that it only takes an extra 10 minutes per extra contract to prep up on a normal day but can take an extra 20 minutes if you cut down the amount of time to deliver them.................I may have even confused myself with that one.
