I hate Bippers.

Did RM actually road test these things before they bought a load of them? They're not big enough.

yup.when we went P&L we had the next model up as hire vans
then we got the Bippers
mind you. mails down ,so it makes sense the Bippers will be fine ;)

I doubt it probably got a big price reduction for buying X amount of them, don't mind the drive but there's more space in a matchbox than in the back of those things, couple of big packets n your knackered.

You have to remember that the planner base the size on the cubic capacity and not on the floor space so they think they're big enough and we're just not loading them properly (answer given to me by senior manager when I asked him the question).

I hate Bippers..

I always drove a Combo and really got on with it. When one of our duties was collapsed it had a newer Blipper so the dom asked me if i wanted to swap. I only had it one day and it bleeped and creaked all the way around my walk.

It did not pull as well as the Combo either. I swapped it back.

the hires had a fair bit of grunt
allegedly faster than all the other RM vans in the yard

£3,500 per van is What RM got them for, massive buying power, although they could be on lease hire instead of buying them.

park and loop will probably be ok in them in july and august, I use one for my walk and twice during december I had to do two trips to my walk, first one with mail 2nd one with Packets. other times I was floor to ceiling with pouches and packets and would take for ever to work out what was what after an hour of people not being in and having to put the undelivered packets in the back with the rest.

What do RM sell them for after a shift or twos ab/use? Seen a couple of combis about town with the yellow arrows peeled off, might be a cheap way to reminisce once the towel is thrown in.

You'd want to buy an ex RM van, knowing the abuse it's suffered in it's short life !

Do you know thats the exact same sentence that trotted through my head sitting t traffic lights seeing an ex van go by. How much does the pleasure cost? I'm thinking it might be equal to taxi ride to the airport but getting a bit more for my money.

Whats the MGW on these Bippers, surely at Christmas you were approaching it if they were shared vans.

bippers are only supposed to be used for lone posties just smashed a black plastic panel in the back with trolley sliding about at end of duty

They used to end up at auction , normally a bulk block at a time. I knew a car trader who once told me that people went mad for them because they normally have low mileage and a RM service history.

If only the poor souls knew the truth.

Not any more it's not. We now have seven year old vans and have received no new vans for three years

Bippers total waste of time. No use on my country delivery both the amount of parcels and the roads. Will stick with my ford connect.
