Bring on P@L

In my office our walks have been extended substanialy recently ,but we cannot have P+L due to lack of Legal Parking for the vans.
Instead we use the old fashioned Conveyance system,this is where a hand full of long serving staff hold all the walking Postmen to ransom and dIctate to to happen.

Despite several changes of Management,several complaints to Managements
Things now are worse than ever been.As for the CWU Officials ensuring workforce are treated equaly They take advantages of the system

The walking Postmen are just so fed up with the whole situtation.I cannot beleive RM financies are difficult.The Overtime practices for drivers in my office ,suggest RM must be the most profitable company in the world ,and all condoned by Management.Yet a walking Postmen trying to claim 0.5 hours for something is questioned heavily.

1 Conveyance every day claims 3 hours O/T ,as he claims he does not have a meal brake ,yet has time to read 4 different Papers in the Morning.

The Convayance drivers are heavily over worked , 1 driver , who poor chap was so over worked had to park up for a kip every day.

Another has to park up and have a lunch brake ,his second of the day in 8 hours .

Another Driver who in his duty time gets around 4 hours O/T to do packets,in His Duty Time.

If this was not bad enough,the walking Postmen every day have to wait for the Drivers to finnish their overtime,before being dropped off to their rounds,often leading to being dropped off quite late .

Waiting for 20 minutes or so for drop bags as Driver is Doing o/t ,is common place.
Waiting for 45 minutes in cold and rain to being picked up when finnished round, is a regular occurance ,despite phoning the driver as soon as you are finnished your Delivery.

Does any one know in Disneyland if they pay staff to do overtime in normaly Duty Time ?
Having seen the worst of the Conveyance system ,now with extended rounds wich are now on the maxim time they can be
I think P+L could be good with on someone your level.

I was waiting so long to be collected the other day a member of the Public offered to run me back to the office.I had to decline for fear of upsetting the Driver.!

I want a job where I can do my overtime in my Duty time with the full ok of The Management and the Union ,or i would like a job where the Union made sure every one was treated equaly and fairly.

How can a Company that needs to make cost savings allow a select few to hold the whole office to Randsom.
We need proper managers with B-lls to sort this mess out.

Having to wait .5 of a hour to be picked up on Christmas eve is a p-ss take!Our Drivers must be on £200 a week more than the Walkinging Postman.

The ooner P+L is introduced in my office the better for the majority,although I feel sorry for all the drivers to loose their privalaged overtime.
We are called to do IPS in the Mornings ,Drivers are out doing their O/T ,AFTER THEY HAVE DRANK COFFE AND HAD A GOODREAD OF THE PAPER!

Not exactly.
You would need to know how the duties were extended,was it part of a revision and was it an agreed process.
Are there any interim solutions to the weight problem and are they being ignored.

The BT2010 agreement states...

consideration can be given to varying the span length provided that genuine and demonstrable solutions to weight and fatigue are introduced.

Some offices went beyond 3.5hrs long before this agreement was reached.

cant you just work to your finish time, it'll be up to the driver to take you back at whatever time you finish, he must get you back at knock off time, less the odd bit for the unexpected traffic, otherwise you cut off even earlier to get a bus back.
if he's scamming a few hours o/t he'll soon be caught when mail starts coming back.

also sounds like a split between the workers, for the record, i used to take 3 or 4 10 minute breaks, could the driver be doing the same?
and every office seems to be different, and even in the same office different rules apply to different folk.

btw, are you demanding that you can do O/T within your fixed hours or after you're due to finish? had a few and unsure!

if your drivers are so crap why do you depend on them for lifts and waiting for them to pick you up.
as for letting them do overtime while you wait for them then its about time you woke up.
your on a walking dutie, walk to your dutie deliver what you can then cut-off to give yourself enough time
to walk back to your d.o. then tell your guvnor your not waiting for the driver as he is on his overtime.
drivers hate walking staff in my office/walking staff hate drivers its been going on for years in fact the
only time we together is on picket lines then were all best buddies

delivery spans are 4.15 in our office, with weight on the shoulder!!!!

Don't get it,drivers drop off the walkers,then do the pouching,then their s**t,job done.
Too many w*****s in this game.
