This has had over 2 MILLION hits on YouTube already and it was only posted on the 19th, two days ago!

FedEx has vowed to track down the deliveryman who was caught on video carelessly tossing a computer monitor over a fence during a delivery. Company spokeswoman Shea Leordeanu would not say what would become of the employee once they find him, but added: 'This won't be his best day.' The hilariously sad clip of a FedEx delivery man chucking the computer monitor has attracted nearly 200,000 viewers on YouTube in a single day, many of whom expressed fears that their holiday packages would be treated with the same regard.

According to the Toronto Star, the employee has been found using the company's own tracking system and he has been disciplined. The delivery guy "did not display behaviour we consider to be reflective of customer service," Leordeanu told the Star.

As for the customer in southern California, he or she is reportedly happy with how the situation has been resolved.

This isn't in the UK or Europe as some people seem to think but it is in USA and it happened in southern California.


FedEx have posted a response to this "incident. (A "firefighting response" to what has become a truly viral video.)

"...we are working within our disciplinary policy and the employee is not working with customers.."

(In other words he has been taken off driving duties until this incident has blown over, no doubt doing indoor duties. I bet he'll soon be back on delivery, but not on that delivery route.)

In response to this FedEx, to be fair, have met with the person concerned...

However, from the customer's perspective, I am pleased to let you know that the matter has been resolved in a very positive way. We have met with the customer face to face and they already have a replacement monitor at no cost to them. They have accepted our apology and say they are fully satisfied with what we've done in response to this unacceptable delivery. They've made it clear, though, that they prefer not to be identified in any way, and in this case as always with customers, we fully respect their privacy.

goobie55's YouTube video has truly gone viral.. it now has over 4,000,000 hits since it was first posted on the 19th Dec, that's four days of what can be considered "damage" to FedEx and to their business.

Youtube videos can be seen as a modern day version of word of mouth advertising in some cases, and I bet that FedEx will be firefighting this for a long time to come, as the reaction to this has generated a bit of a hue and cry to say the least.
