Get your area rep involved - if your in the Union. If not the local rep may do it of his own back, but thats his choice.

Basically a stage 3 is them asking why they should let you stay working for Royal Mail and if you should approach it in that way by making sure your fully prepared etc.

Also the previous stages of your sickness record will be investigated, so if you or your rep believe that one was issued in error that's another tack you could use.

Also it may help if you are doing anything to alleviate the reasons for the 3 stages of sickness absence as you could argue that you are trying to improve your condition so that sickness absence is less likely.

GET A REP INVOLVED is the best advice.

If you are a union member - contact your Area Rep to make sure they are there for the interview.
They will look at the absences that have triggered the stage 3. Do you have mitigating circumstances? Do you have underlying health problems?
They will look at your overall attendance while employed for RM. Do you have a "good" sick record or have you had lots of absences?

Then they will decide to sack you......or not.

stage 3 they discuss prevoius stage 1 and 2, and should of sent u atos before meeting
beforehand review your previous stage 1 and 2 and any return to works

is it an ongoing medical issue or just separate things?
