well the latest bit of bovine excrament to come out of the weekly revision planning meeting is this

less than 350 delivery points then you can use a pouch rather than the lwt/hct

i am all for using a pouch if you are delivering to a block of flats but this flies in the face of the national agreement yet again. they make it up as the go along

has this been sugested in other offices and best method to throw this back at them besides the national agreement

when people have done or doing there revisions what takes precedence is the royal mail security process. bet the planners never told you that.

your delivery needs to be labeled as small, medium, or high risk for the integrity of the mail.

town deliveries use a hct, but within an urban enviroment you will have a high risk area. a block of flats that have a drug dealing reputation for example.

in this sinario, if the hct is out of sight for more than five minutes then the contents of the hct have to be removed and placed in a van. when the postman has delivered then the contents are placed back from the van into the hct. FACT

Who decides what is a high risk area and what is not?
Surely a nice block of flats (granny flats for example) is just as risky - it might be a quiet area and less chance of being seen than a crappy estate? Scum can and do travel to nicer areas to indulge themselves.

I think what they are saying is take the specials out and leave the rest.
You can only do this for a max of 10 mins(low risk),5 mins(med risk) or 2 mins(high risk) according to the RM Delivery Equipment Security Procedure.
I guess his planners haven't read it much.

may i ask where it states that in the BT 2010 agreement

Page 22 of 2010 and beyond lists possible delivery methods, which includes delivery pouch in the list. Page 6 of "Delivery duty design principles" gives maximum delivery spans for each delivery method.

i have a walk with 338 delivery points, big houses and about 100 yards between doors, takes about 3.5 hours, i can not wait to get off it. good for door to doors though.
