two way radio's for P/L

Why dont Royal Mail provide two way radio's for P/L
Used to use them on big building sites whilst on the building and used to charge them up daily ( Motorola's) and had a range of 6 miles .
Dont see why RM should expect us to use our own mobiles when we have to contact the driver

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Everyone would then have to undergo radio training and then you'd all be listened to by the radio ombudsman people... I can't remember the correct terminology, but we have to use them for our St John Ambulance duties and it's a right ball ache.
Does this rag smell of chloroform to you?

This park and loop thing just gets weirder and weirder. Why do you need to ring the driver? Why would you need radios? Don't you do loops together?

You dont need to contact the driver. Just go to the meeting place when you're done. Alright unexpected things happen, like an accident or whatever, but lets be honest its hardly commonplace and in that eventuality you can.

Well, you both start at the same place, but the drivers is shorter to go and do packets. Also, they're usually 40 minutes or so, so not exactly together.
