reps changing their tune?
are the reps in YOUR office going back on what was said about walk sequencing machines?? before the 2010 ageement local d.o, reps and area reps/div reps were going round d.o,s trying to sell us the deal. what was said to us was,,,,,when the machines come in, they will ''literally obliterate'' indoor work. this was one of the reasons for accepting unlimited d2ds for 20quid. as they had to justify full time jobs, this would add to the workload. there would be practically no indoor work apart from prep, tying up, then out, as the ''SUPER'' MACHINES'' would be doing nearly all our indoor graft. NOW it seems,, they are busy negotiating the indoor flow. we,ve been told we cant get our 600quid until its all sorted. this involves having 15 dedicated sorters doing nothing but sorting all morning till its time to go out. their duties will be prepped by dedicated preppers till its all boxed in and ready to tie up. and the preppers will be fed mail by people who just clear mail down from the ips all morning, giving it to all the preppers to keep them going.???? the rep was asked where is all this work going to come from,? theres not supposed to be any?? the machines are going to ''obliterate'' it, as we are supposed to get up to 90% of it sequenced. this was why our duties have been increased to almost double......the answer??,,we,ve never said that. the machines will only give us about 60 to 65% max. it doesnt say that anywere in the agreement.!! there WILL be plenty of indoor work. it seems as if we REALY have been sold down the fekn river on this one. lying bastards.

Hi i did not hear any reps in my area say what your saying in fact they were all against the 2010 agreement,so do not tar all reps with the same brush, just because that may have happened in your area do'es not mean it happened country wide.

If you think you can do a better job go and collect a nomination form and perhaps you can give up some of your free time for no reward .daveyeff wrote:are the reps in YOUR office going back on what was said about walk sequencing machines?? before the 2010 ageement local d.o, reps and area reps/div reps were going round d.o,s trying to sell us the deal. what was said to us was,,,,,when the machines come in, they will ''literally obliterate'' indoor work. this was one of the reasons for accepting unlimited d2ds for 20quid. as they had to justify full time jobs, this would add to the workload. there would be practically no indoor work apart from prep, tying up, then out, as the ''SUPER'' MACHINES'' would be doing nearly all our indoor graft. Why would he need manners if he is only telling the truth, with the conditions our members are now putting up with our Union should hang its head in shame. The part timers in my office are up to £15 a week worse of since the door to door became part of our pay. What other Union do you know who could negotiate that kind of deal.easter bunny wrote:If you think you can do a better job go and collect a nomination form and perhaps you can give up some of your free time for no reward .daveyeff wrote:are the reps in YOUR office going back on what was said about walk sequencing machines?? before the 2010 ageement local d.o, reps and area reps/div reps were going round d.o,s trying to sell us the deal. what was said to us was,,,,,when the machines come in, they will ''literally obliterate'' indoor work. this was one of the reasons for accepting unlimited d2ds for 20quid. as they had to justify full time jobs, this would add to the workload. there would be practically no indoor work apart from prep, tying up, then out, as the ''SUPER'' MACHINES'' would be doing nearly all our indoor graft. Re: reps changing their tune?
its not a case of doing a better job, i certainly could do the job without going back on my word. its the bare faced denial of the reps that came to our office and sold us this shite, claiming all sorts of miracles that would be performed by the wsm, and now saying they said no such thing. they bloody well did. the whole office knows what they told us. and now they,ve changed their tune,,as the post says.easter bunny wrote:If you think you can do a better job go and collect a nomination form and perhaps you can give up some of your free time for no reward .daveyeff wrote:are the reps in YOUR office going back on what was said about walk sequencing machines?? before the 2010 ageement local d.o, reps and area reps/div reps were going round d.o,s trying to sell us the deal. what was said to us was,,,,,when the machines come in, they will ''literally obliterate'' indoor work. this was one of the reasons for accepting unlimited d2ds for 20quid. as they had to justify full time jobs, this would add to the workload. there would be practically no indoor work apart from prep, tying up, then out, as the ''SUPER'' MACHINES'' would be doing nearly all our indoor graft. Re: reps changing their tune?
What you fail to realise is that when the entire HDS system was overhalled, Royal Mail were planning on getting MORE HDS items; putting them into a large envelope and THEN giving them you to deliver. More money for them and NONE for you as they would then just have become part of the workload (mail in other words). Not only are you STILL getting paid for this albeit less than you were a year or so ago, but its also part of your workload so prep etc comes into it. Had Royal Mail had their way, you would have possibly been delivering MORE of the buggers for sweet f/a!!! Yeah it does leave a bitter taste in your mouth I agree, "but something is better than nowt"ballee wrote:Why would he need manners if he is only telling the truth, with the conditions our members are now putting up with our Union should hang its head in shame. Have some forgotten about the road shows?

But then in fairness, the amount of mail 'at the moment' walk sequenced is not enough in a lot of places to make a difference.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Who told you this...HQ?dave7634 wrote: What you fail to realise is that when the entire HDS system was overhalled, Royal Mail were planning on getting MORE HDS items; putting them into a large envelope and THEN giving them you to deliver.
And more importantly...who told HQ?
And even more importantly....why?
What you fail to realise is not everything coming out of RM is intended to inform.sometimes it's intended to mislead.
Let's deal with the facts as they are not as they might have been/could have been/Royal Mail said would be.
We are no longer paid for D2D at all.
Time for prepping D2D has been completely negated by Walk Sequenced Mail(the benefits of which to an experienced walk holder are tiny) the old "falling volumes" chestnut and the IWT...a tool i wouldn't trust to time a boiled egg.
That's in strong offices that managed to get any time in the first place.
Whether it has protected a single job is debatable..due in no small part to the vagueness of the guidelines and the weak follow up work from HQ.....i personally doubt it.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Re: reps changing their tune?
Well really we get back to Moyas' statement as to what her view is and the significant changes to delivery without mention of a shared plan or motivational recompense.
It makes not one jot of difference what was said or by whom, what is absolutely certain is that the RMs plans to cut costs, increase productivity and introduce new working practices without consultation or involvement WILL go ahead and all offices sooner or later will conform to a greater or lesser degree. What we will see is more and more joint statements giving the impression that the changes have been negotiated rather than imposed.
