Drivers doing Docket on P/L

On P/L walkers are at the whim of drivers,
The driver that I have had since Christmas pressure started just wants docket all the time and has been peeing me off bigtime.
Slows down on purpose even though he has the easier walk , doesnt have any large packets or parcels to deliver because they have been taken off him with Xmas pressure.
I have to wait up to 20 minutes at the end of every loop before I get my next loop drop.
Keeps asking me if Im cutting off.
Then at 2pm he drives back to the office with all his undelivered items and recordeds and specials and then drives out again to finish his round running around like a headless chicken for say 1 hour and books 4hours.
The Dom even went up to me a few weeks ago questioning why I had booked 2 hours docket and the driver 4 saying I cant pay 6 hours extended on one duty.( I did it to piss the driver off by not cutting off so he couldnt get my docket)
Thing is they wont do anything to the driver because he does all the docket in the office but it riles me that I have to finish bang on finishing time on light days because of someone playing the system

I can see your point and i understand that your not getting the early days.....But

This guy is clearly working at a slow steady pace and then booking the max OT. Its the best way to work really. When he drops the reg's back cant you go back out with him and share the extra docket between you.

At the end of the day we are paid to work our hours at a fair and reasonable rate, no coming in early, no running round like something gone mad and it's in our own interest to work in accordance with procedure.......
However if people want to drag the job out to invent overtime then don't bleat when you are caught, these people (managers) are not as stupid as we sometimes think, and it's not really fair to expect a fair crack of the whip if we are not giving one, that's just my opinion......
How to deal with it..... ain't got a clue, I wouldn't want to go running to the gaffa but can understand how you feel vunarable......

Can't you ask him why it takes him 20 minutes longer to do the driver loop when he doesn't have any packets? Are you both using trollies? If the DIM was putting pressure on me as a result of the other guy taking the piss then I would grass him up. Grassing isn't nice, but neither is dropping a work mate in the s**t just so you can book some unwarranted docket.

Problem is that P/L works better if you work as a team but if the driver only thinks of no 1 it definately doesn't work.

who said it works as a team.
was there not a national strike over team workings, there again we have
been out on so many different strikes over the years i have forgotten what we have
been on strike for.anyway open docket this weekend parcels and packets up the wall.

P&L has been implemented in about half of the code areas covered by our office. Management know it's a balls up, so they have held off on forcing it through on the more 'challenging' code areas.

good to know you did not vote it in,and sorry its been implemented by sick managers
but as you say its more troble than its worth if its costing royal mail you may find it will
change back next year.for royal mail to cut costs on delivery next year park and loop will
be desolved due to the cost of implementation and higher management is not impressed
with local managers as this was due to save money not waste it.
