Xmas arrangements!

Hi, I've read the arrangements for the Christmas working hours, now if my contracted duty is a 10:00pm Sunday start-can someone tell me why we have to work the Tuesday 27th night shift? I'm well within my rights to turnround and say i aint coming in. Every bank holiday we getting stuck with these WHY?

It's no wonder this place is going down the pan, we've got regular night workers working 24 hours for the best part of 400 quid, then the AG men on 250 quid having to work all the hours contained in the contract.... It's lopsided this company it really is.

Why do the Part timers get mugged off all the time within Royal Mail.

Because part-timers are poor hard done by people, whilst full-timers have it oh so easy!

If it's any consolation. The part-timers on deliveries in my office usually sit around drinking coffee or disappear to the toilet for best part of the morning. Sure they have to be there for crap money, but they usually don't have to do much for it!

I can see how its frustrating but this is not a PT FT issue as neither side started it. Royal Mail did and thats where the anger should go, doesn't anyone ever think who benefits if PT and FTs starting fighting amongst themselves. We have enough enemies within without starting on each other.

Back on Topic - If you start at 10.00 on Tuesday when was your last shift before that.

Also I am afraid someone has to go in, I wish they didn't as Wednesday would be a dead duck and no-one in deliveries would complain. Could it be done fairer and with volunteers - probably but thats not Royal Mails way is it.
