Anyone else finding Xmas pressure this year to easy?

Starting us an hour and half early on Sa to deal with the IPS but we are not exactly busy ok parcels(small) are in abundance but xmas cards seem well down .Was looking forward to my week off after xmas to recover but looks as though I need not have bothered.

The mail seems very down, esp flats

I am hoping that its because it all got delayed the last couple of years due to the bad weather and that RM are more on top of things this year.

i think its due to when xmas falls rem still this week to finish and then another full week after that.
suspect this weekend fri sat mon will be hammered
also think rm and our dsa partners have held back flats mags etc until after xmas
wait and see the amounts of flats then
nb. i still havnt sent my cards yet plenty of time

last few years on Xmas eve I have got back to the DO to see yorks full of flat, mags, brochures etc ready to go out the first day back after the holidays.

so yes, they do get held back then the first two weeks of the new year it goes mental with the things and then settles down again.

its not nice though knowing that while I am at home enjoying the break, that its gonna be hard going when I go back to work.

I think thats what RM are expecting they were round the office today asking for collections volunteers to do Sunday.

Could be that due to all that snow last year, people have ordered all thier online shopping early this year!

Then again could just be that we are going to get hit hard next week!


Personally I couldn't give a hairy turd as I still cut off every day, even though it hasn't been especially heavy this xmas so far! The heavier it gets the more I take back to the office. Turned down the xmas deal and have never had a more relaxing xmas!
