Management bullying?

Post by bobthepostie »

Overheard a newstart today telling the line manager that he expected to be over his time today by about an hour. Manager said that as yesterday was quiet and he finished 45mins before his time then he would be expected to do the 45 minutes today without putting on docket. Surely that isnt correct?

Also lino said that this was agreed by the CWU in the flexability agreement?

Bollocks.
There is no agreement to bank hours.
That isn't what the flexibility agreement says either.
And they know it.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

I did hint at this to the newstart but wasnt 100% sure myself. Another colleague told the lino he had never heard of this either and to show him it in writing and the lino told him to get back to his own work. This lino is a real nasty piece of work at the best of times and is constantly bullying staff especially the part timers on a rolling contract who whenever they question the lino are constantly reminded of being on a rolling contract. Worst man manager i have ever came across yet nothing is ever done about it.

Cheers for the info.

BTW what exactly does the flexability agreement say? Just so i know for myself as i have also been told the same before but to be honest i cant remember the last time i finished early but would be handy to know for future instances.

As we know we all are supposed to work the hours we are paid...... No problem but, it is up to management when on the odd occasion we have a light day to find us work when we return to the office, if they don't then it's home time......
The flexibility arrangement is VOLUNTARY and is for extreme conditions i.e transport failure and so on, so that's a load of garbage to try that old chestnut :no no :no no. If they wanted him to work his time then they should have filled his duty with additional work on the day in question...... Simple, though not so easy to bang your drum when you are a new starter hoping for a permanant contract......

Under the last agreement some office's can set up a local agreement whereupon a flex of 30 mins MAX can be used. However this was only supposed to be for early days on a Tue's etc. From what i gather not many office's took this offer up as they could see a window for management abuse of the agreement.

So 45 mins is over that and it would not count when in xmas pressure anyway. :no no

If you see this kind of thing happening then report it to your rep asap
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

i think the cwu should stick there heads up and tell these socalled managers there is no agreement for banking hours and to stop all this s**t , it shouldnt be down to the postie to go in and tell them he cant complete and be expected to work for nothing.
