The CWU is in conflict with a ruthless and untrustworthy employer. One of RM's aims is to smash the union so this is a fight to the finish.
Given the gravity if the situation why havent the union responded immediately to events.
Four weeks of phantom/sham talks,in this time all possible outcomes could have been identified and a plan of action devised for each possibility. It's called scenario planning, you don't need Russel Grant, most organisations do it. We could have delivered an instant, powerful and moral boosting response to RM's dirty tricks.
We are faced with EA on later starts on Monday with today no guidance from our leadership. Make no mistake, even piecemeal or partial introduction of this EA will deal a body blow to our present struggle.
It wil symbolise RM re exerting their authority over the workplace and employees; the union will have been sidelined and it will FEEL like a defeat.
Even if our leadership had been minded to compromise on this issue they can no longer afford to do so. Failure to organise a united response will lead to chaos and ultimate defeat. Such a failure would i believe constitute a dereliction of duty ,our leadership will have let us down.
I honestly believe that at this point in time this EA is our most pressing battle. Once the enemy is through the gates you can fight all you like but the siege is over.
I have no desire to get shafted even by mistake.

time the union started to let the rest off us into the masterplan, many feel like we are a ship with no rudder, comunicate with us now or loose your members, before this all started i had very little faith in the union on a national scale, now the little i had is been eroded, maybe time for a vote of no confidence and replace our leaders with someone who remembers what its like to be a postman and live on that wage rather £150,000 per year

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
