Hi
I was involved in a RTA in RM carpark Tuesday afternoon 6-12-11,the next morning I got up for work and couldnt move my neck without a great deal of pain but I went in to work anyway,when I arrived at 6am I started my prep but couldnt carry on so I told my linemanager I was going to A&E,I was told at A&E I had whiplash and should contact my GP for painkillers which I did,on returning home I rang my lingmanager the told him I had whiplash,within an hour I had a letter from the DOM saying he has reffered me to Atos,Ive had a phone call from Atos telling me someone will call me between 5pm and 7pm, what I want to know is what can Atos do? Ive been off sick 2 days and think this is very odd.
Any advice

Probably not a lot at this early stage, although they will probably try and get u to go and do light duties. I would tell them what advice your doctor has given and stick to it. Management are probably only covering their own back, has the accident been recorded on ERICA and to the DWP?

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

I was going home,on my way out of the carpark,doing 5-6 mph when a car reversed out of a space and hit my car, he then drove forward and reversed into me again.

Ask them in future not to ring you on your mobile, letter only.

1 you are referred far too early.
2 just tell the atos caller you have a Drs note.
3 at the later stages ask to see some one face to face.
4 get better.

tell you dom or line manager that it is a legal requirement for the ACCIDENT and not INCIDENT to be reported within 24 hours or 48 hours if over a weekend

if you are off sick for more than three days then the ACCIDENT gets elevated to a riddor

DEMAND THAT THE ACCIDENT IS RECORDED

any crap from your dom then update your thread and ill quote the H.S.E. REGULATIONA

THIS IS AN ACCIDENT ON DUTY IF THE ACCIDENT OCCURED IN DUTY TIME

did you give your line-manager or Dom permission to hand out your phone number ?
i have been referred to atos and the lino asked me for my number and said they needed a phone number to contact me.
i asked him how, before the wide spread ownership of telephones and now mobile phones, did people make contact. his response, a letter? hows about we give that a bash then i said.
2 months later and no letter :nana
Confused... You won't be, after the next episode of. SOAP
