How much needs to change for a full resign

Our DM revision has been canned again as it doesn't look like it was going to save enough money. the Dom now wnats to do a mini revision which will re align some of the hours and give 9 full timers and their day off cover 1 in 4 sats. To do this 1 full timer will get bumped off his round and also 2 part timers will have to become reserves. As it only affects 3 people do we need to have a full resign? Obviosly the 9 FT who are getting the extra Sats are up for it and most of the others are not that fussed either way. Should i push for the full resign or take Dr Spock's mantra that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few?

I was always lead to believe that there has to be 50% of changes to the duties before you can have a resign.

For a re-selection exercise to be considered the extent of such a change must be that it has a significant
impact (in content and/or attendance times) on over 1/3 of the jobs in the unit. (New jobs should be included
in this number).

The revision is at proposal stage still at the moment but our DOM says we need to do something in the new year as the MC want to go to end state to get their sequencing bonus which means we would have to have later start times on a Saturday. He says this would be a good time to have a bit of a tinker with the indoor side of things and try to correct a few of the glitches from the last Pegasus revision. The 1 in 4 Sats off is clearly a bribery chip thrown in to sway the 'Naughty 9' but if none of the outdoor duties are changing and there will only be 3 people askked to do a different job. (They are not being asked to drop hours) Do we really need a full resign?

I have asked if this will free up the £200 IWT revision money but he is being very cagey about this so I don't want to raise everybodys hopes on a false promise.

No.

5. Section 16.2 of the Way of Working Agreement defines “Major Change” as:

• the relocation or merger of units

• a significant process alteration arising from automated working or reshaping of the pipeline

• delivery revisions, which involve significant re-plotting of walks or significant restructuring of attendance patterns (e.g. full time/part time mix, five-day weeks, “longs and shorts” or nights plus a first delivery, where they are agreed).

Not simply a change in saturday attendance patterns unfortunately.
