Special Delivery 1pm guarantee suspension for Xmas 2011?

Around this time last year, the 1pm delivery attempt was no longer a certainty. Is there any news of something similar this Xmas, or was it brought about because of the awful weather nationwide?

It was only because of the weather that the guarantee was dropped, so unless there's severe snow again then it will remain up until Christmas.

speical deliverys should have been sorted out by your rep when talking to the o/c
over the xmas arrangements. if the walking staff are still delivering after 1.pm,ha,bloody ha then
all the registered would go on the vans then once the drivers have finished they do the
bag drops,firms,tracked, recordeds,parcels and packets.
this makes bag drops late,firms complain,track and recordeds fail, parcels and packets roll over.
but the registered items all confirmed by 1.00pm and the guvnors happy,(another bonus).

I see nothings changed in the smoke drivers doing bag drops, firms, tracked...............

When you eventually start the revisions all those will disappear, no bag drops - no need - HCTs, Firms - completed by the nearest Park and Loopers, Specials/Tracked - completed on PDAs by park and loop or Rural Vans - oh those poor bulk drivers...................I think we lost 9 or maybe it was 10, I forget, it was so long ago.

In fairness you are in a fortunate position; London have almost total full timers and almost a total membership which puts you in a strong position - because of the lax attitude to recruitment and the numbers of part timers and non union members, getting a ballot is impossible. We have several disagreements in but RM aren't daft they know there isn't a cat in hells chance of any action and just plough ahead regardless.
