Issue has been highlighted to lino who will talk to DOM, plus has been text to union (with no response so far). Christ knows why they are doing leave now, when supposedly we are having our P&L revision early next year, where leave could be allocated by picks within small groups (day-off cover duty's six rounds, the duty holders and a holiday reserve).

Annual leave farce, you could not make it up!
Fairly big DO, one of the sections is heavily dominated by PT staff (strangely enough the most unachievable walks in the office by far if equipment used correctly), second wave of 2012-13 coming to an end with seniority/reverse-seniority allocation. In their great wisdom and without realising the great flaw in the process until flagged recently, leave for PT is only being authorised on the basis of one PT on holiday per week per section. Given that everyone has at least four weeks of leave to book, excluding any purchased leave and/or any leave carried over from this year, just how exactly are twenty-odd PT staff in one section meant to book their statutory leave yet alone any extra? The one PT on leave per section per week only works if each section has upto twelve PT staff (allowing for the Xmas pressure weeks of no leave) and even that does not allow for bought or 5-days leave carried over!

We're in disagreement over leave allocation at the moment, still ongoing, yet another disagreement. Wonder if there's a sort of league table of disagreements that ongoing and not resolved.

... other point might be that the p/ts (like me) are only on 3 month rolling contracts - that to adds to the whole farce i.e. they (mgmt) are giving out holidays to peeps who may not be there in 6/9 months - crazy crazy
"We're under model" - oh no we're not - stick your lapse elsewhere ...

Is this leave allocation disagreement of a similar nature i.e. not enough holiday weeks being in the system to cover every staff member's statutory right?dvbuk55 wrote:We're in disagreement over leave allocation at the moment, still ongoing, yet another disagreement.
Even the last people to request leave under whatever system are entitled to holidays, even if they are the most undesirable weeks of the year...

Well no. They are trying to alter the number of people allowed to be on leave at any given time. They are also trying to alter the application for odd days to the detriment of staff. The upshot of it is we haven't had our leave weeks allocated for next year and people are getting concerned about booking holidays. It is December and the new leave year starts in 3 months.....................we await a decision......................IloveMYredTROLLEY! wrote:Is this leave allocation disagreement of a similar nature i.e. not enough holiday weeks being in the system to cover every staff member's statutory right?dvbuk55 wrote:We're in disagreement over leave allocation at the moment, still ongoing, yet another disagreement.
