ELECTIONS FOR REP

could somebody tell me the dates for rep elections.

i asked our current rep who was elusive on the subject then a day later told us we could all apply..but has not put anything on the board .

yesterday he went up to somebody and told them to sign here..he didnt read it but suspect's it was be to second him.

when do nominations have to be in(closing date)

what a plonker i have been sending emails to devon and somerset,you know ,seeing as i am in somerset.but apparently we are western counties

twice now,since our rep discovered i was nominated ,the manager has gone out of his way to disparague me infront of everybody.the first time when i told him i was cutting off as he wilfully delayed the mail on tueday (my day off)by telling all the rounds after the first mail run that there was no more and to bag up..of coarse everyday we have 3 mail run.low and behold there was plenty more to cum but it was late.so the next day i came in to trays littering my frame as when they all got back at 10am my cover guy went home whilst everyone else threw in there own.i told him i am happy to go over delivering one days mail but not 2 just so he didnt have to pay guys to sit around twiddling thunbs.if he wants me to complete let me off ips till ive caught up..
instead he shouted for all to hear that ,this(me)is the prospective new rep ,yet he wants to cut offf,thats not what the union wants or royal mail.he thenwent off to "think about it "BUT NEVER CAME BACK.

so i went back to him and told him i am cutting off,and asked for advice on what to do.he told me to leave what ever i like in the frame because he would make sure i delivered that bit first tommorrow..the phg then said he would happily deliver it for me..the manager said no,leave it in the frame.

eventually some time in the day after i had gone he had second thoughts and the phg went out and did it(i helped him but dont tell the manager,lol)

anyhow,saturday i got a letter from the union asking for a biography..the rep heard and shouted around the unit that there would be an election.
to which the manager came out and said.
"WE SHOULD ALL TALK ABOUT IT FIRST"
HE THEN WENT ON TO SAY THAT HE AND THE REP NEED TO WORK TOGETHER NOT BUTT HEADS EVERY DAY AS THEN EVERYTHING GRINDS TO A HALT.
THAT THE MEMBERS SHOULD TAKE A LONG PAUSE BEFORE THEY VOTE TO MAKE SURE THEY PICK THE ON MOST LIKELY TO HELP HIM RATHER THAN HINDER HIM.
WHEN ONE GUY ASKED HIM IF HE WAS IN THE UNION ,HE SAID NO.THEN ITS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU,HE SAID.
BUT I REPRESENT ROYAL MAIL,YOUR EMPLOYER AND SO I GET TO RECOMMEND TO YOU.

CLEARLY HE DOES NOT WANT ME AS I SEEM TO THINK WE SHOULD GO ALONG WITH HIM AS LONG AS IT FOLLOWS THE AGREEMENTS SIGNED,RATHER THAN JUST AGREE WITH HIM NO MATTER WHAT.

IS THIS ALLOWED ?ARE THERE NO RULES TO SAY IDIOTS LIKE HIM CANNOT BULLY THE MEMBERS TO VOTE FOR WHO HE WANTS?
CLEARLY HE HAS SWAYED OPINION,BUT ITS AGAINST THE CURRENT REP.(GOOD FOR ME)BUT WHOLEY UNFAIR.

ANYONE KNOW THE ANSWER?

No,inform branch secretary that LM is actively interfering in a CWU election and that he has addressed the members with his own election threat that if you are elected things will go bad! Branch Secretary should contact regional IR/HR manager. Hope this helps ps Happy Xmas.

Seems to be a blatant illustration of how worried Royal Mail are about having effective union organisation in the workplace. They want a compliant 'yes man', or they will make the rep's life difficult.

Heads they win, tales we lose?

If you get elected, remember it is the members who elected you to make a difference that you redpresent, whether Royal Mail like it or not.
