hello all. i'm a full timer with a medical condition which is considered a disability under the equalities act. have been told yesterday that as i can not fulfill all aspects of the job i am contracted to do because of my condition that i either accept a part time packet duty or i get ill health retired.
any advice please as i don't want either scenario to occur. many thanks

Re: ihr
have you had a revision yet
have you had a resign yet
is a job avaliable in the office such as keys and tabs, doms support, public callers etc,etc
as you have a condition that is covered under the dda, you have extended rights and these are called protected characteristics which your dom cant ignore
what does your branch/rep have to say on the matter
i myself am going through the ihr farce myself at the moment, its not about you as such
its about getting rid of someone on a 40 hour contract of employment and to replace with someone on a fixed term contract
if they offer a part time contract then will be this subject to a buy down of hours and being paid a lump sum???

Re: ihr
Have you reported the accident to the DWP? That's the first step. You should have been advised of this by your manager (according to HR). From experience the initial letter will come after 2-3 weeks. Then a medical will follow. But I think they want the first letter just to prove that it was an Industrial Injury.

DWP phone number is 08456031358 ask for an industrial injuries form they will do the rest and send it out then you fill it out take a copy and send it back. Ask your rep for an LS 3 form fill out the relevant part take a copy and send the original off to branch or HQ.demon wrote:union said i need some sort of letter from the industrial injurys before royal mail insurence will pay out sound like a load of complacated s**t to me like
then sit back and let the good times roll or was it wait, i always get them mixed up.
Confused... You won't be, after the next episode of. SOAP

none at all. managed to get in touch with union headquarters and was told to put in a grievance with a view to going to tribunal, with full union backing, if not resolved within 28 daysbogstandard wrote:what reasonable adjustments have been considered and ruled out then?

Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.
