Delivery office to close

Hi , My delivery office is under review of closer , I was wondering if anyone has been transfered and what terms they had etc Travel allowence . Also how far away was the distance between offices old to new Cheers

my office closed last year they moved us 12 miles we had traveling expenses offerd for 3 years, which we took in one lump royal mail take 12% of this money then the tax man takes his bit in all we lost about 35% so my advice is take it on a weekly basis to stop royal mail having a cut.

Got told in September we where not closing and the same Person came and told us that where under review to closing now , Milford Haven West wales

Why would RM take any?

Taking it in one lump sum compared to weekly won't make a blind bit of difference unless it took you into the 40% tax band and you'd need to earn over £42k to do that!

Why would RM take any?

ETE to be paid weekly or monthly in future depending on the employee’s pay cycle. As currently an employee entitled to receive an ETE payment can request that this sum is paid as a single up front lump sum payment (which will still be subject to NI and taxation deductions). Such advance payment will be discounted by 12.5%. However, for those people who will now receive payments over five years, only the first three years of recompense can be paid as the lump-sum. Years 4 & 5 will be paid weekly or monthly.

we were told £8100 but got only £5200 royal mail take a share becouse we had 3 years in one lump. we then get £800 in year 4 and £500 in year 5 which they did tell us about they just never mentioned the 12% they take off the first payment.
