Advice on maybe a fake postie

Hi i was doing my round the other day when i saw another postie in uniform with a sack walking my round.I said hi and asked if there had been a mix up and he was doing my round by accident, he was very avasive and said his round was over there not giving any street names and was trying to go away quickly. he was in full uniform and wearing a RM cap and carrying what looked like a bundle of letters wrapped in red band. I may be worrying over nothing i didn't reconise him and i know this time of year we hire extra staff but i had a weird vibe. What do u think? and should i report it or am i just being silly?

No your not being silly, report it monday as it sounds very dodgy. If his genuine it wont matter but if not.

Better safe than sorry, if you are right and he's a wrong 'un you may save someone from something unpleasant. If you are wrong and he really is a postie then no harm done at all. Don't know the size of your office but I'm sure most of us would know them all from ours - RM have no Christmas temps on delivery.

An elderly person could be fooled by a person who looked like a postie , round our way people pretend to be from the gas, water or from the electric light company to fleece the unsuspecting oap .so pretending to be a postie at xmas could just be an unpleasant variation on the distraction burglary theme . You must report your fears, and also mention it to your local beat bobby if you have one.

Actually from reports on here it sounds like there are some in Kent, and probably (though not sure) in Scotland - they are rarer than hens teeth though.

You don't know but if you report him and he's not a fake then there's no harm done......either way you'll have done the right thing.

Well if he is a Christmas temp, then its a pee take that he gets a full unifrom. I have been working for RM for over three month and I still have not got a full uniform.
