No part time to full time for Christmas

Lino at LS8 D.O. says it's a waste of time making part time staff up to full time this Christmas because they don't know how to sort mail.
What's the situation in other offices?

Yep ours is being made to F/T as from Monday for the Christmas period and all pre listed O/T we have managed to get at S/A rate.

It's not much, but you only get the full £100 Xmas bonus payment if you are on contracted full time hours for the Xmas pressure period.
If not you will only get a pro-rata payment for your actual contracted hours - OT/SA does not count.

Not true. The Xmas bonus is payable dependant on the hours WORKED for the 4 weeks commencing 28/11/11. The Xmas bonus is going to be paid 16th December.

I've lost count of the number of colleagues who categorically say they will NOT work over their time this christmas - and who can blame them? The packets are already going through the roof - this week there's been a huge increase over 700 and 800 items passing through the locker tracked and special and I reckon this weekend will see a surge in online ordering, so next week is likely to be even worse.
