Shared vans.

Hi guys, Up here in Scotland i think our office is going to start the 'shared vans' scenario about end of February start of March,Now i'm the only one in my office who doesn't drive and one of my colleagues mentioned to me today because of that the boss may well transfer me to another office, Something im not really keen on, Ive worked in the same office for 7 years part time 32 hours per week, Anyone know if this would well be the case?

If you are the only one who doesn't drive it should not be too difficult to find you a role in the unit.
Will the office be introducing HCTs for walks within a mile of the office?
And both partners don't have to be able to drive in the shared van scenario
So sending you to a different office would appear to be nonsense.

Technically you only require one driver per shared van anyway... as there is only one person who signs the van out, the van (and any vehicle/traffic/speeding offences for that day) are their soul responsibilty, the other person might sign for the spare key but they should NOT drive the van at any point during the delivery.

Of course we all know this doesn't happen in reality and you end up both driving the van through-out the course of the delivery, just something else RM will turn a blind eye to when it suits them.

Walks within a mile of the office are supposed to be done by these and not by shared vans (if terrain etc allows)

Ah rite gotcha, There were talks a good couple of years ago about this getting introduced to our office but it never materialized and there hasn't been any chat about it since.

haha, everytime someone shows an example of a HCT thats the image that gets used! Wonder if he knows hes the HCT internet modeller?

In the office i work in, we have about 25 non drivers, they either go on HCT duties as previously mentioned or are put with a driver on a P/L duty. If the round is set up properly both people get back to the van at the same time, if not, the driver does the shorter loop and then does packets. dont let them fob you off. We also had a sort of option that you could refuse to drive even if you could.
